David Taylor

Singer/Songwriter/Multi-instrumentalist David Taylor is one of Australia’s most promising young artists and is fast becoming a household name.

David has already released three back to back top 10 hits on the Australian Singer/Songwriter iTunes charts:

  • Pick Yourself Up (feat Ali Kerr) – September 2013
  • Take Pride (feat. Will Cole) – December 2014
  • Keep Falling – May 2016

On the back of these three back to back top 10 songs, David released his debut album Thoughts Then Reality in October 2016. This album charted in the top 5 on the Australian Singer/Songwriter iTunes charts, overtaking best selling international artists such as Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Passenger and many others. Track 2, This Too Shall Pass, has been nominated for Contemporary Song Of The Year by the Australian Songwriting Association.

Both Pick Yourself Up and Take Pride (produced by Cam Nacson) were written for mental health charity, KYDS (a free counselling service for kids), with David donating 100% of profits from these songs to KYDS. In recognition of David’s support of mental health, David was nominated for 2016 Australian Of The Year.

In May 2016 David released Keep Falling – produced, engineered, mixed, mastered and co-written by ARIA nominated producer Peter Holz. This charted at #8 on the Australian iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts after just 2 hours. Keep Falling was the lead single off David’s debut 10 track album Thoughts Then Reality which David and Peter worked on together for over two years.

In mid 2016, David set off on his first ever Australian tour, Little Thoughts, which he co-headlined with 2016 The Voice AU semi-finalist Mitch Gardner, playing shows across the country to large crowds. This tour was on the back of his East Coast tour with talented songwriter Ollie Kirk as a co-headliner. Both these tours have helped David develop his unbelievably dedicated fan base, as well as allowing him to connect with fans in other states that he hadn’t performed in-front of previously.

David has performed on many stages all around the country, performing alongside global and international artists including Taylor Henderson, Jack Vidgen, Fletcher Pilon, Cyrus, Fatai V, and Emma Birdsall.
