David Taylor

Singer/Songwriter/Multi-instrumentalist David Taylor is one of Australia’s most promising young artists and is fast becoming a household name.

David has already released three back to back top 10 hits on the Australian Singer/Songwriter iTunes charts:

  • Pick Yourself Up (feat Ali Kerr) – September 2013
  • Take Pride (feat. Will Cole) – December 2014
  • Keep Falling – May 2016

Both Pick Yourself Up and Take Pride (produced by Cam Nacson) were written for mental health charity, KYDS (a free counselling service for kids), with David donating 100% of profits from these songs to KYDS. In recognition of David’s support of mental health, David was nominated for 2016 Australian Of The Year, and ultimately named as Young Australian Of The Year in 2017 by Ku-Ring-Gai Council.

In May 2016 David released Keep Falling – produced, engineered, mixed, mastered and co-written by platinum selling and ARIA winning producer Peter Holz. This charted at #8 on the Australian iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts after just 2 hours. Keep Falling was the lead single off David’s debut 10 track album Thoughts Then Reality which David and Peter collaborated on together for over 2 years.

On the back of these three back to back top 10 songs, David released his debut album Thoughts Then Reality in October 2016. This album charted in the top 5 on the Australian Singer/Songwriter iTunes charts, overtaking best selling international artists such as Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Passenger and many others. Track 2, This Too Shall Pass, was named as one of the Top 10 Contemporary Song Of The Year by the Australian Songwriting Association. David was also a semi-finalist twice in 2016 in the International Songwriting Competition with Track 4, Rent, nominated for Best Song in the Singer/Songwriter category and Track 3, Keep Falling, nominated for Best Music Video. David was also selection as a finalist in 2018 in the ISC for Goodnight, Best Music Video.

In mid 2016, David embarked on his first Australian tour, Little Thoughts, playing shows across the country to large crowds. This tour was on the back of his Australian East Coast tour. Both these tours helped David develop his unbelievably dedicated fan base, and provided an opportunity to connect with fans in other states that he hadn’t performed in live previously.

David is currently travelling between Australia and the United States to collaborate with some of the industry’s finest songwriters and producers.

David has performed on many stages all around the world, racking up over 200 shows in the last few years, performing alongside both Australian and international artists.
